Terms of Service

The rules of the game.

Plain English. Read the whole thing — this is what you're agreeing to when you use Podium League.

Draft for review. Not a substitute for a lawyer-reviewed Terms of Service. Last updated April 2026.

What this is

Podium League is a competition platform for retail investors. You connect a brokerage you already own, you trade in that brokerage normally, and the app scores your time-weighted return against other members. Podium League is not a brokerage, is not registered as an investment adviser, and does not handle money — there are no entry fees, no prize pools, and no funds flow through the platform.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and a resident of the United States to use Podium League. We verify age at signup and may decline service to anyone we cannot verify. You agree to use the platform only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

One account per person

Each person may hold one Podium League account. Each brokerage account may be linked to one Podium League user at a time. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or evade limits — "multi-accounting" — is a violation of these terms and grounds for permanent ban without refund.

Read-only brokerage access

Brokerage connections are powered by SnapTrade and are technically read-only at the API level. Podium League cannot place trades, move funds, withdraw money, or change anything in your brokerage account. We see only the data the brokerage exposes to read-only OAuth: your holdings, transactions, and balances. We never see your brokerage password.

What we collect (summary)

We store your email, date of birth (for age verification), username, and your portfolio's daily percentage return. We do not store dollar amounts, account numbers, or banking information. The full data and privacy notice is at /disclaimer — read it.

Not investment advice

Nothing on Podium League is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Leaderboards, return percentages, and other members' rankings are presented for competitive and informational purposes only. Past performance does not predict future results. Your trading decisions are yours alone, and Podium League accepts no liability for losses or gains you experience in your brokerage account.

League conduct

Don't cheat. That includes: trading wash patterns to inflate apparent returns, coordinating trades across multi-accounted entities, using automated trading systems whose primary purpose is gaming the leaderboard, harassing other members, or impersonating anyone. League commissioners may set additional house rules within their league; Podium League enforces only platform-wide rules.

No market manipulation

You agree not to use Podium League — or your appearance on its leaderboards, recap cards, or trade feeds — to manipulate the price, supply, or demand of any security. Specifically prohibited: pump-and-dump schemes; coordinated trading designed to move a stock and profit from the resulting movement; front-running other members' visible trades; spreading material non-public information; and any conduct that violates the federal securities laws (including Securities Exchange Act §§ 9(a)(2), 10(b), and SEC Rule 10b-5). Violations are grounds for immediate, permanent ban, removal of historical data, and reporting to the appropriate authority.

Restricted persons

By creating an account you affirm that you are not a Section 16 corporate insider with respect to a public company in which you would trade on the platform, a FINRA-registered representative, or otherwise legally prohibited from public discussion of your trading activity. If your status changes after signup, you must either close your account or contact us before resuming activity. Misrepresentation of restricted-person status is a Terms violation.

Privacy & data

Public leagues default to anonymous handles; you can opt in to show your real name. Private leagues are visible only to their members. Podium League does not host user-to-user messaging — there is no in-app chat or direct messaging — so we never moderate user-generated text content. We do not sell your data or use it for behavioral advertising.

Account suspension and termination

We can suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, fraud, harassment, or repeated misuse. You can delete your account at any time from /profile; deletion permanently removes your profile, snapshots, and league history within a reasonable retention window. Disconnecting a brokerage immediately revokes our read access to it.

Subscriptions (when offered)

Podium League Pro is a paid subscription. If you subscribe, billing is handled by Stripe and governed by Stripe's terms in addition to these. You can cancel any time from your billing settings; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period unless required by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

Podium League is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your TWR will exactly match your brokerage's reported figures (small differences are expected from how each system handles cash flows and timing).

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Podium League's liability for any claim related to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for losses, damages, or claims arising from your trading decisions or from your brokerage's actions.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification or email. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. The version date below tracks the most recent change.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any non-arbitrable dispute is the state and federal courts located in Texas. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration where permitted by law (administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules); you waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action or class arbitration. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction or from pursuing claims in small-claims court.

Subprocessors

Podium League relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each is bound by its own privacy and security commitments, linked below. We do not sell or share personal information with any of them beyond what their service requires to function.

We will update this list before adding any new subprocessor. If a subprocessor change materially affects how your data is handled, you will receive notification in-app or by email.
